FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long do classes run and what is the class structure?

Each course class is made up of a 10-15 min warm up, a tricks component and a dance component. Covering these every week will help ensure you get an all-round understanding of movement, strength and technique required to be a pole superstar!

Unable to book classes on the app?

You may not have any valid sessions available to book, the class may be fully booked or the current sessions you have may not be valid for the type you are attempting to book – i.e. You’r booking a Workshop rather than a class. You can view your active sessions on the app in the My Account tab.

I’ve booked the wrong class and I can’t remove myself?

One common reason for this is you have booked outside of the cancellation window. Please contact the studio immediately to resolve the issue. If it is not resolved quickly your session may be forfeited if the class is at full capacity and not allowing others to book.

I’m on a waitlist, what does that mean?

Our classes allow for students to add themselves to the class waitlist in order to be notified if a spot becomes available. You will receive a text message or email confirming a spot has become available for you to join.

How do I know if I get into a class from a waitlist?

You will always be notified by email or text when you make it from the Waitlist into the class. Please ensure that your have enabled all your communication settings in your TPR account to receiving text message and/or email notifications. You can change your communication setting from the Settings tab on the app.

I’m on the waitlist, am I able to come to the studio to see if a spot becomes available last minute?

You can opt to be on standby but we cannot guarantee a spot will become available.

I need to reschedule my classes?

To early cancel out of a class, you will need to log into your TPR account, find the class you booked in for and select the cancellation option. Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the class commencing will be marked as a Late Cancel. A Late Cancel is forfeiting of that session.
The exception to this is if it’s for a medical reason, which will require a medical certificate to be sent through to the studio.

I’m unwell and can no longer attend my scheduled class… can I be credited back my session?

If you are unwell or injured it is your responsibility to remove yourself from class outside the cancellation window of 8 hours. If cancellation is within 8 hours of the class commencing we will require a medical certificate from your health practitioner to credit the session/s back on to your account.

Can I use my phone to film?

We do allow filming in class as long as the camera is positioned in a way that you’re the only person in the frame. Please be courteous and aware that others may not want themselves on camera.

Recording and the use of your phone should only be done after the instructor has finished giving safety instructions and body cues. You may also at times be required to assist and spot your fellow students in difficult or complex moves. Please pay attention to your instructor and fellow classmates at all times. We do not allow the use of phones to text and call as a distraction may result in injury or misunderstanding of key points.

What do I wear to my first pole class?

A good rule of thumb for Pole is the more skin you show, the more grip you’ll have on the pole.

Even as a beginner you will be using your thighs, knees, calves and ankles to hug the pole, so short shorts are a must for the best possible grip. For your upper body a short sleeved shirt or singlet is best. As you become more of an advanced poler and move through the levels, a sports bra or crop top will help to expose the skin on your elbows, underarms, back and midriff. To get the most from each session avoid using moisturiser / oils and remove all jewellery.

What to wear to my first lyra/silks class?

Lyra (also known as aerial hoop or ring) is a steel ring suspended from the ceiling by secure rigging. It’s usually wrapped in grip tape and you can perform amazing acrobatics on it! Lyra and silks are quite the opposite of pole in the sense that it’s easier fully clothed. A tight pair of leggings and a tight fitting shirt.

What do I need to bring?

Hydration is important so always bring a water bottle! We have taps in the studios to refill.
Sweaty hands are the arch-nemesis of a pole dancer, bring along a hand towel and grip which can be purchased from studios! Knee pads are essential to have on hand. There’s a high chance you’ll get hot and sweaty in class so bring a light change of clothes if needed.

Do I have to wear heels?

Heels are typically worn only in our Pole Dance or Floorwork classes. Check the class description to see if heels are recommended. In some cases students will opt not to wear them and that’s totally fine!

Is there an age limit for classes?

For our Pole program, you must be at least 16 years old and have parental consent if you are under the age of 18.
For our Lyra or Aerials program we do not have an age restriction, however if you are 14 or younger you will require a guardian to be present during the class.

Can I use this offer with my Friends for a ‘Girls Night Out’ or any other celebratory event such as a Hens Party?

We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove groups who do not comply with this policy. Not to worry, though! We offer private functions tailored to make any celebration unforgettable. We’re going out afterwards, can we have extra time to get ready?

If your party’s planning to go out afterwards and need extra time to freshen up it’s recommended you organise to finish your session early (or schedule extra time on the booking) to allow for getting ready. Often parties can be booked back to back, or staff need to leave the building so it’s imperative bookings finish on time.

Is camera/video footage allowed?

Most definitely! We encourage you to record the entire event! Available staff can assist in taking photos using guests phones or cameras throughout the party, plus a sexy group photo towards the end of the party!

Do I have to wear heels to my Free Trial?

No, you do not have to wear heels to your free trial class. When attending a pole dance class, especially as a beginner, it is not necessary to wear heels. Pole dancing can be done barefoot, and many beginners prefer this option as it allows for better grip and stability on the pole.

Wearing comfortable workout attire is more important for your free trial class. Opt for clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably, such as leggings, shorts, or athletic wear. Also, consider wearing a sports bra or tank top for women to ensure unrestricted movement.

As you progress in your pole dance journey and become more comfortable with the movements, you may choose to wear heels for certain routines or performances. However, wearing heels is entirely optional and not required, especially during the early stages of learning pole dancing.

So, feel free to leave the heels at home and come to your free trial class dressed in comfortable workout attire. Focus on enjoying the experience, exploring the basic movements, and discovering the joy of pole dancing without any pressure to wear heels.

Where can I purchase pole gear and shoes?

Everything you need is available in-studio or at the TPR Shop. This goes for grips, kneepads, booty shorts, exclusive TPR merch and even home poles that you can purchase for your home!

How do I download the TPR app and manage my classes?

What do I wear to my first class?

Comfy work out clothes – shorts and a singlet/crop is ideal, as the more skin you have showing, the better you’ll grip on the pole. Eventually you will need knee pads, grip and heels, but you can complete your stash at the studio after your first class.

Do you have payment plans?
